I’ve got a Raptor w/52” deck. I need to replace the middle blade spindle. My problem is I can’t figure out how to remove the nut holding the pulley to the top of the spindle. I’ve used a pneumatic impact wrench and an open ended wrench w/cheater bar. The nut loosened just enough to make the spindle shaft loose, but no more. Now I am having difficulty securing the shaft so I can put loosening torque on the dang nut. I’ve attached a picture. Any advice?

Is the blade on tight? Put the blade on with the blade bolt tight. Block the blade and use impact on nut.

That nut is a thread deforming nut. As said block the blade and use a good impact. Otherwise you are probably a pull bar with a cheater extension to remove it. After removal you are going to need to re die the spindle shaft threads.
Now if the spindle shaft is a through bolt then it is a little harder to remove but a strong impact can still get it off.
