Been quite a few years since I've messed with a Lawn Boy...
This one is a model 7227 (year=1977) with the D-601 engine. Centrifugal governor under the flywheel, and all-plastic carb.
Appears to me there is enough wear on the throttle shaft/housing--a lot of up and down movement--that the arm could go overcenter and stick. Is there any repair for this?
The guidance for adjusting the governor linkage calls for a special tool to put over the crank where the flywheel normally is, to position the governor on on the crank. Of course I don't have it, and no dimensions are given. Does anybody know the dimensions of this tool, or have another approach to checking the governor adjustment?
Thanks.
