I recently purchased this ride-on with little knowledge about it. I believe the model is 134-504. The previous owner states he rebuilt the carb and put on a new fuel filter. I know the filter is new. I am curious what type of air filter is needed for this one. I am waiting on the snow to melt to really try this out. It ran for 10 seconds and then would die out. I am thinking I just need to get more gas in there, but didn't want to do it since it was going into storage for the winter. This mower has me excited and nervous at the same time. The picture isn't of my actual mower, but it's the same one.

Nah, the engine should be bigger, like 7-8 h.p..

But we shouldn't be the ones to guess, the engine numbers should be stamped just above the spark plug, give us all of the numbers, model, type, code, as your mower likely has/had points, and it would be helpful if we had that info....

OOOps, I see the title now, the model number should be 220000 or 250000, or something along those lines.

Looks like the filter I need is 270528. Now that the snow is melting I was able to pull the mower out. If anyone else knows more about this mower I'd appreciate all the advice I could get.

The engine probably has electronic ignition, it is right around that age when they all were made with the electronic triggers installed, the mower is likely an old MTD,
we would need to find the tag to be sure, but it looks like an old MTD.

It does have the electronic ignition and yes it's an old MTD brand. When I got it, the guy handed me the front tires (which had fallen off) and the steering rod and wheel. I got them back on and it ran for maybe 10 seconds. Neighbour thought maybe too little gas in the tank. Didn't want to put more in it since I was storing for winter.
