The right Spindle failed on my Hopper mower deck. It was a bad failure too. As I dug into this, I noticed these have grease zerks - this tells me a couple of things 1) they do not use sealed bearings in these assemblies and 2) my old buddy who I just got this from, did not grease them. The pully got into the nuts and ground them down causing me to have to grind them the rest of the way off. I still have two up under the frame, those two are in good condition but frozen. I need to get a good, long, six-point, box-end wrench to see if that will budget them. While doing this work, I discovered the deck will lift vertically on the tractor - mine was missing the right locking lever and almost all of the Deck Stand parts. I ended up putting boards under the deck to release the weight off of it. The other thing is the quick release collar on the PTO half shaft would not release. I ended up pulling the entire shaft and disassembling the quick coupler apart to get the two separated. I have got it all cleaned up and reassembled. Now I can start working on the Spindle again, maybe this afternoon. I am thinking, I can reattach the Mower Deck and lift it up as long as I don't engage the Locking Lever.
