I need a 640288 carb alternative part number for this current Tecumseh I picked up. Runs on starter fluid but the insides of carb are to badly corroded to fix.

What I think he looking for is the one with the adjustable main jet. That was replace by the fix jet one. A darn EPA requirement on OEMs.
If running lean the only option left is resizing the jets. EPA frowns on this but it is a necessary thing at times if we want an engine to operate properly.

will the adjustable jet screw into where the fixed jet goes? If not then a bone yard is likely the only place one will find non-epa carbs.
