I have an "old" Troy Bilt MTD Model #13AY609H063 that is in great shape save one minor issue...the transaxle is busted.
Case is cracked, bushing on one side cracked, and it turns out that the center pin in the differential is loose.
Are there any suggested swaps for this transaxle that might be available for less than the $700+ I find for a full replacement?

First you don't have the 618-0307C but instead have the 918-0551A which NLA. You must find an used good unit.

Thank you for chiming in. Could you educate me a bit? The sticker on the transaxle says 618-0307C. Did someone swap it out before I was given the machine?
Either way, I figured it was NLA. I would like to know if I need an exact number match or if there are other transaxles that I could use (expecting used as well).
Thank you, again.

Ahh that number was superseded by MTD before they obsoleted it.

Here is the supersede list from my recent price download.
