I have a few year old Craftsman 6 hp B & S . 917.388382. It died last Fall on the last run of the season.Cleaned the carb bowl. blew out any ports I could see, float, valve OK, air filter, replaced hoses,..etc. But when it starts on prime I have to keep on pumping the bladder to keep it running until it warms up. It also seems to be running rich when it warms up as well.
I'm used to the old carbs where you can lean them out with a needle valve, etc. but these throttle-less, valve-less later models have me buffalo'd. Is there an internal fuel filter within the carb that I'm missing? Or?
