My tiller has a horizontal shaft twin PTO engine (135292-0670-A1), with a completely corroded fuel tank - holes to the outside, and the reservoir at the carb is completely rusted away. Unfortunately, replacement tanks are no longer available. I am hoping someone knows of another tank/carb combo that can be fitted to this machine to bring it back to life.

Since the engine is a twin PTO, it looks like an engine replacement is not an option, without losing some of the functionality of the tiller.

I would do a google search for these part numbers. 694315 original tank. 495370 & 494600 possible replacements.

Thanks for the quick responses.

To Rivets: I should have included this info in the original post, but I had already been looking for the 694315 tank. They appear to no longer be in production, and stocks appear exhausted. I did find a used one on ebay but, at $255, I decided to pass on it. Carburetors are no problem, as Chinese parts are widely available. Trouble is, the carb without an intact tank just won't do the trick.

To Mechanic Mark: Thanks for the search links. As I mentioned, carbs are not a problem. The tank search provided a multitude of links, most of which I had previously visited. There was one new site that showed parts in stock at reasonable prices, but seems really sketchy to me. Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to order from them. There appears to be a problem accepting my credit card, so the order is in limbo for now. I'll post a report with final results, regardless of how it turns out.

In the meantime, if anyone reads this that has some experience in 'adapting' another type of tank/carb combo to this engine, I would really like to hear from them. I have little confidence in eventually finding the correct fix.

Thanks!

Have you looked at the possible replacements I posted. Also, check your local repair shops, as many times they have parts in their bone piles which they sell cheap.

Rivets: I am currently looking at the 495370 & 494600 that you mentioned. I'm looking at what specs I can find, trying to determine which carburetors they require.

Thanks.

Carbs will most likely be interchangeable, mounting most times is the difference.

Thanks, Mark. Been there already. Quite pricey, and if you click add to cart nothing happens. It's almost like they have it disabled, or something.

Sorry, if that came across as snarky. I think they are out of stock.
