This is only my second post. My first described multiple issues with spark and fuel flow. Although I was getting a spark with my old magneto and thought I would need to replace the flywheel, I replaced the magneto and it fire consistently and starts on the first or second pull. I had stalling and fuel overflow issues. I replaced the float and seat and it runs great. However, I have one remaining problem that I would like ask your help with. My idle speed is way too high. I tried to adjust the mixture and nothing. I tried to adjust the idle speed mixture (phillips screw above and to the left of the idle mixture adjustment, not sure if this is the correct one) and change in idle speed or movement with the throttle lever, i.e., it is as far forward as it will go. Suggestions, thoughts? Is the idle screw where I think it is or is there another location that I should look for. Many thanks!
Thanks for your reply Rivets! There doesn't seem to be a lot of detailed info available on the repair of these small engines. I am sure that there's a repair manual somewhere. So short of having that, I have been just stumbling through this project to resurrect this mower after it sat idle for 10+ years. There are three adjustable screws on this carburetor and the control assembly above it, and I was confused about which did what. Even looking at a parts diagram, it was hard to tell what's what. So, thanks for identifying it for me. I appreciate your help.
