I'm new to the forum.
I'm mechanically minded and will tackle most any job
I bought my 48" cub with advanage deck new in 2004ish. Has 19hp Kawasaki.
My issues/questions:
1. Noticed the belt early this season and went to the dealer to get back up. It was ridiculous. Does anyone have a link to purchase one?
2. The right spindle bearing has up/down play after mowing my parents yard they let get way out of hand. Plus wet!! Grrrrr!! Anyway. What Do bearings actually cost an again does anyone have a link?
3. Mechanical questions about deck.
After mowing my parents yard today, cleaned mower and came home. Started it up and when I tried to engage the bladed the mower ran like crap and sputtered a lot. I looked down to see the spindle next to the shute wobbling and when I disengaged the blades I noticed the belt was flipped going around the pulley. I manually worked the belt so the V was in the correct direction into the spindle pulley. Tried it again and instantly flipped. Then the already weak belt broke.
Q1 although the spindle would still spin freely, would this wobbling spindle with weak belt bog down my motor evey time I engaged the blades? It would sputter terribly to the point there was no way to mow.
Q2. My plan is to replace the belt and bearings. I've already removed the spindle to take to the dealer tomorrow because I don't have a socket large enough with thin walls to fit the recessed nut!! Grrrr..
Am i better off to order the parts on line some where and repair myself? Or just get the parts from the dealer?
I'm usually a wise investigative shopper, but will need this mower runnin in the next few days. So time is an issue here. Or my grass will be out of control with all the rain here in Ky.
