I have a 26 HP Kohler (SV735-0017) that is running off of one cylinder. Both cylinders are getting fuel and spark! Coil Conversion kit, New plugs, Carb rebuilt kit accomplished. Engine has 60 hrs since new. What else can it be?

http://www.kohlerengines.com/onlinecatalog/pdf/32_690_01_EN.pdf your engine service manual, see page 17 troubleshooting, engine runs but misses.

Absolutely yes you can change part, check engine oil level first then recheck valve adjustment per manual specs.

I found it. Top push rod on driver side cylinder is bent like an S. No metal shavings. I removed the bottom one and replaced it. It moves fine in and out. Could I have other issues that could have caused this? Can I replace it? There is no damage other than the bent rod that I can tell!

hi ,

did you know that a broken / leaking inlet manifold gasketat the cyl head can cause the same symptom and and being at one end will only affect that cylinder not both of them even though compression and spark are good and fuel supply ( appears to be ) good , but its the delivery of the air/fuel mixture thats comprimised causing it to run on one cyl
