Working on a 2290KW lawn tractor. Wouldn't start and once I got it into my shop I found that it wasn't getting fuel to the carb. Checked the filter and found it to be ok but empty of fuel. Blew through the filter input line with compressed air and it was clear. Blew through the carb input line to the fuel filter and evidently blew out debris as fuel started flowing well and the tractor runs fine. My question is, what is the "filter cannister" located next to the fuel tank? The tractor has an inline filter by the motor. I see this item listed in parts diagrams and wondered what is its purpose.
