2186 Lawn Tractor wont start. The battery is good but acts like the battery is low. Used to be slow cranking then eventually would start. Some one mentioned the flywheel key is bad and the timing is causing the slow cranking. Can anyone give some advise?

How do you know the battery is good. What voltage is the battery?
A slightly sheared shear key will not slow down starting just make it very hard to start.

Did you take the negative (ground) cable loose at the body/frame to check for a rusty/dirty/loose connection? That's always my first suspicion when a mower or car won't start. Also, most modern mowers have a 'safety switch' on the brake pedal. If that switch is worn, loose or has poor connections, you might not be getting continuous voltage to the starter solenoid.

Hope you find your solution soon!
