I got the mower used with 200 hours on it but they had jumped it backwards. It cranks over but wont start. I can't hear fuel pump and it keeps blowing a 15 amp fuse under seat. Somebody mentioned fuel pump shutoff solenoid. I ordered one but can't find one on unit. It has the 27 hp motor on it. Help please

  1. Check the wiring: Since the mower was jumped backward, it is possible that some wiring has been damaged or shorted. Inspect the wiring thoroughly for any signs of damage, and repair or replace any damaged wires.
  2. Fuel pump: If you cannot hear the fuel pump, it might not be receiving power or it could be faulty. To test the fuel pump, locate it (usually near the fuel tank), disconnect the electrical connector, and use a multimeter to check for voltage at the connector while someone turns the key to the "On" position. If you do not detect voltage, check the wiring and the fuel pump relay. If voltage is present, the fuel pump may be faulty and need replacement.
  3. Blown fuse: If the 15-amp fuse under the seat keeps blowing, there may be a short circuit in the electrical system. Trace the wires connected to the fuse, checking for any signs of damage, exposed wires, or loose connections. Repair or replace any damaged components as needed.
  4. Fuel shut-off solenoid: The fuel shut-off solenoid is typically located on the carburetor or fuel injection system. It controls the flow of fuel to the engine. If you cannot find it, refer to the service manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance with locating it on your specific model. Replace the solenoid if necessary, and ensure that it is properly connected and functioning.
  5. Spark plugs and ignition system: Check the spark plugs for fouling, wear, or damage, and replace them if necessary. Also, inspect the ignition coils and ignition control module for any signs of damage or wear.
  6. Air intake: Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged, as a clogged air filter can prevent the engine from starting.
  7. Battery and starter: Make sure the battery is fully charged and the connections are clean and tight. Test the starter motor to ensure it is functioning properly.
If you have checked and addressed all these areas and the mower still won't start, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic or the mower manufacturer for further assistance.
