2012/2013 Laser Z s series 60" deck issues

I just acquired a 60" Laser Z s series. The deck has some holes in it. Looked at a whole fleet of used ones, and they all had the deck eaten through in the same place. Looks like a poor design on these models. Is that the case? If so, if I go to by another 60" deck, is there a more durable one that will fit this mower?
