2011_28" Snapper electric start RER not starting

Greetings: I have a 2011 28" Snapper Comet Hi-Vac electric start RER that began starting erratically a few weeks ago. It now will spin but not fire. The last time it started, last week, I noticed that it started when I released the key from the Start/Crank position. In other words, as long as I cranked it it wouldn't fire, but the instant that I released the key it fired and ran perfectly. My conclusion is that I've got a bad Ignition Switch. Does anyone on this website have a better idea? Any relevant advice would be appreciated. Thank You.

That is first instinct, but not necessarily so, especially being only 3 years old unless mower has been left out in the rain or hosed down. Post model & serial numbers as well as all numbers from engine. Inspect, hands on , all connections, backside of ignition switch, everything electrical making sure everything is tight and secure at all connections.
