Hi, we have two 2010 Scags with pull start Kawasaki FS600V Engines. Both have less than 200 hours and we serviced them at the end of March (plus/oil/air and fuel filters etc). After about a month they both developed a searching idle problem (surging up and down/stalling etc.).
Took the carbs apart and found black gritty dirt like substance packed around and in the main nozzle. These particles look too big to have passed thru the fuel filter and we are a bit mystified as to where they found their way into the carbs. Has anyone else out there encountered this? We have 8 scags in total. only the 2010's have this issue.

Thanks!

That doesn't sound right to me.

I'd say some part of the post filter fuel system has degraded prematurely and is breaking down.
