have a scag fixing for a good friend.. have nothing when turn key on. first time i did i had a slight flicker on ammeter but now nothing at all.. 2 fuses beside seat are good all safety switches are functional and i have replaced key switch and relay and pto switch and electronic module is on the way.. i have 12.7 volts coming into key switch housing.. i seen on schematic there is another 20 amp switch in the back near battery but have not seen it on the mower.. i have also heard that even though the battery terminals look good it could be a bad connection... this mower is dead in the water.. does nothing at all.. also the friend parked mower sideways on a hill wondering if that could mean anything.. thanks

Get the machine model and S/N, go the Scag website, toward the bottom of the column on the left is a link to manuals, click on it, find the manual for your specific machine and download it. There is a wiring diagram in the manual.

On the wiring diagram, the item at C is the start or cranking relay. When all the safety circuits are in the correct position, this relay is grounded by the electronic control module, and when the keyswitch is in the start position, power will go to the starter solenoid and allow engine cranking. The items in the safety circuit are: parking brake switch, seat switch, L/H & R/H travel levers, PTO switch in the off position. The start relays have been known to be problematic and it is located close to the keyswitch.
Download the manual, print the wiring diagram which may be difficult to read. I enlarge diagrams of this type on my printer so I can read them. I do it in sections and then connect them with Scotch tape.
This is the link to the machine that you have mentioned.
