2009 Dixon RAM 48 ZT

I am looking at 2009 Dixon RAM 48 ZT with the Kohler 24 hp engine. Any opinions for or against this combination. Does anyone know of any specific chronic problems with either this particular mower, or engine?

The mower has 109 hours on it and appears to be in good condition with just a few minor cosmetic scratches. What is a mower like this worth, or what would a fair price be?

I know the Kohler Command engines are good, and the newer Courage series engines have a lotta knocks against them. Not sure in 09 which it would be, but other than that Dixon has always been a pretty solid machine. Where ya at in Iowa? I am just south of Indianola.

This is the Kohler 24 Courage engine. After doing a little research I see some pretty poor opinions on this engine. I will likely only put 30 hours or so a year on this mower. With regular oil and filter changes can I expect the engine to last for awhile, or is this reason enough to avoid this mower all together. Btw, I am in Solon, IA.

I have seen the bad reviews on the Courage. I work in the auto industry, (parts dept at ford dealership) and my opinion is that you are always going to hear about the bad things. I would guess when taken care properly that engine will last a long time. It's just like car engines/makes. You can just plain get a bad one sometimes, no matter which one you buy. I wouldn't let the engine be a huge deterrant as long as the deal is a great one. I have a buddy who is from up that way, Olewein I think actually. Never been up there. Thanks for the info SCMCG. Does anyone know what a GOOD deal would be on this mower. He is asking $2900.

Also, I have heard the problems with the Courage where mostly in the single and this is a twin? Anyone know more about the courage engines that have chronic problems (i.e. years, twin / single, etc.)?
