2007 gravely 34z runs sometimes won't start other times

I have recently bought this gravely 34z it has the kawasaki 17 hp fh541v. It had corroded gas lines that i replaced. I couldn't get everything out of the left tank so i put a new line filter on it to catch anything. I ran the remaining gas out and it filled the filter with debris. I switched the filter again. And then I couldn't start it. I pulled apart the motor housing and tested to see if there was spark and there was. The new gas filter looks pretty clear. I switched the gas cap with the other side. I started it by messing with carb cleaner. It would only run on carb cleaner at first. Then it would only run at 3/4 choke. Then magically it started running and starting again. I then mowed 2 lawns and trailered it for about 30 minutes. I went to start it and nothing but a 1 second spurt fully choked. I pulled the air cleaner off and after a few more tries fully choked it started and would only run heavily choked then magically ran again. Put it up and trailered it home. Tried to start and again would not start. Could it be the Florida heat or the movement from trailering? Can you rebuild or just clean the carb on this. Could my fuel pump be bad could it be vapor lock or something. Please help thanks.
