I'm new to the forum and right away I do have a problem that showed up today. I have a 2002 Cub Cadet Model 2166. As I was mowing today, it started cutting out and then died. It started back up after a few tries and then died again after about 5 minutes. This continued for about two more times and after it died that time, it would start but only run for about 3 seconds. Thinking it could be fuel related, I checked the entire system from fuel tank, filter, pump and carb bowl. It's getting plenty of fuel. I replaced the plug with a new one with no luck. The engine also would backfire sometime when trying to start it. After looking at the options, I'm guessing that since it will start that it's probably going to be the speed advace unit and not the ignition module.... anyone had this problem before or have any ideas one this. I'm glad to be a member of this great forum.
