Have this second edger with the 3.5hp Briggs horizontal on her. Something fell and knocked the carb/fuel tank off the engine. One carb mounting threaded ear broke off the block. Going to try that harbor freight low temp alumi-weld stuff on her. That square air filter housing is trashed. Might be able to bend the metal pan some. It's pretty sturdy though. This is what it looks like.

Probably order another Chi'zneeze carb for it. My other OEM Briggs is a surge master. This OEM carb has the mount screw hole area busted off on it.

This one is really clean minus the above hammered parts. Paint and such are pretty fresh. Looks to be low hours on her maybe.

Need to change the oil and probably get one of these for it. OEM air filter housing is NLA.

If the aluminum weld goes good, I will tap the carb mount hole that is busted off. This is the whole ball of wax. If successful probably order some parts for the ol' girl.

Tried using the harbor freight low temp aluminum welding rod kit. Tried to braze on the carb mount area on the block that got broken off. Couldn't get enough heat into the engine block to make the rod stick. Wire brushed and sprayed with carb cleaner prior. Had the propane flame singing pretty good. Held flame on carb area of block for 1-2 minutes or more. It was either dirty metal and lack of heat. The rod would finally flow and ball up. Need to borrow our surface temp gun from work. See the engine block temp then lay on the rod. Probably operator error here. Will try again with the rod.
