I am a new member. I joined trying to get info on changing drive belt on 26hp Cub Cadet. It kicked my butt for a week. Ended up taking motor off and grinding the side of pulley down to replace, pulley.
I took some advice found on the fourm and ground the belt guides off. I will never have a problem,
replacing the belt again. Also something I use that I did not see in any of the other post for taking the
PTO off is I activate the clutch and use a chain wrench to hold it while I remove the bolt.
Thanks for the help,
Grinding the belt guides off will now give you more problems in the future. The guides not only keep the belts on the pulleys, but in some cases allow the belts to release when not under load. I hope you don't have jumping belts in the future.
