1720 electric PTO problem

1991 Cub Cadet..original owner. PTO always worked 100% until yesterday. While mowing, lots of smoke coming up from engine area..smelled like rubber burning. Stopped and waited 5 minutes. Started OK and drove to garage. Checked for broken belts, branches, etc..and all appears OK. Turned on and when PTO engaged...nothing happens. Tried a few times. I removed gas tank and all wires look OK and none appear burnt or melted. Checked underneath and the wire to the voltmeter was off so I retaped it and it works now, but PTO still dead. Would you suggest a new switch before taking it to the dealership?
All opinions appreciated. Pochie

Hi Mark...thank you. I watched the video. Because there was lots of smoke I suspect I need a new clutch. Being that she is 23 years old, I am not going to repair her as other items will fail in time. I'll see what I can sell her for and she'll make someone a good mower. Pochie
