Hi Guys,

Since yesterday everytime i try to mow the lawn there seems to be a lot of smoke coming out the mower and when i look at the front of it, there is a pool of oil.
Any ideas on what this is and how to fix it?

I've attached a photo.

Cheers!

Oh my word.... just inspected the fuel in the container, the other day it was clear..now it's a black colour..how could this happen and what effect could it have? This is in addition to the oil problem...it never just rains!

for some reason the gas looks like it has a good heavy dose of 2 stroke oil in it. And if that is what it is, then that could explain the oil smoke, dripping out of the muffler area.

Right:

lawnmower model: atco quattro 16
lawnmower type: cs 434
trim: ??

That black fuel was from the petrol can and when thinking back more clearly a few days ago it wasn't truly clear but was a slight green colour when before that it was properly clear..so it's gone from clear>>slight green>>Black.

Cheers.

Oh my, it does look like you have oil in the gas, check your oil level it could be high. Was the gas can you used for 2 cycle gas at one point? It could be from that.

The only petrol that has been in that can is standard unleaded, i don't know how the bf, oil got into it...is this a major issue..has anything been damaged by this? I went and got some fresh gas & have emptied the stuff that was in the mower..

I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Cheers.

If you have had a oil change? Or added to much. also if you take the muffler off and look at the spark arrestor that might be clogged too.
