14 hp Kohler Command Engine has spark for less that 30 seconds and dies, no spark until it sets for some time.

Could be bad spark plug, bad ignition module or something is the mower wiring that is causing the shut down. Remove the ground wire from the igntion module and see if it still dies. If so then try new plug. If it fails then replace module. If it continues to run then it is someplace else in the wiring system.

Not an expert but it sounds like an ignition module to me. They can fire for a while and then quit. Especially when they get hot.
