Have this motor on a log splitter. Large piece fell and hit the recoil. Didn’t think anything of it, motor ran for another two hours. Made a couple of noises, just thought is was the screen. Long story short, come to find out, it some how must’ve knocked the ratchet clutch loose. After two hours of running, now the crank is stripped and the clutch is too. Is there some kind of repair kit? Maybe retap? Idk. Even thinking of fabbing something to bolt to the clutch and letting it grab the flywheel fins. Any help is appreciated

Are you sure the crankshaft's threads are stripped? They're fine threads and don't have a lot of depth.

You can buy the recoil mechanism. The one I bought last year cost about $25.

Lol oh yeah. They’re almost gone!! You can just tell that they were threads. The ratchet clutch is polished clean on the inside.

Any idea of the size of that thread?

No idea on the thread size.

If the threads are truly gone, you need a new crankshaft.

So i bought a new starter clutch for it. Checked the threads and they're 5/8-18. Got a die to run on the crank. Hoping to get just enough threads to stand up. I drilled and tapped the new clutch and put in two set screws on the back of it. Fingers are crossed!!!!! A new crank is over $400 WTH. I'll let y'all know!!!!!
