1/2 Acre in Virginia

Moving to the Roanoke area and will have a house on .56 acre. I can really really appreciate the job that a commercial mower does in making cut grass look really good, not to mention using a top quality mower. I looked briefly on line at EXmark mowers and to buy a new 36 inch mower would be somewhere around $3500. I think the John Deere zero turn is about $2600 but guess it would be far from a commercial/well built mower.

Any suggestions as to a good piece of equipment that will do a great job of cutting the grass?

What's your budget? Are you looking at doing anything other than mowing? $2600 priced ztr mowers will be bottom of the residential line for any brand. .56 acres isn't a lot of lawn to mow. You don't need a commercial ztr mower, unless you are considering mowing lawns for others.

Just mowing my lawn and I think $2500 for a low end Zero Turn is kind of crazy. I have been looking and reading and I think its hard to beat a Honda with the two part blade to do the best possible job as far as cutting the grass. I also see they have a commercial model, self propelled for about $1250. That looks like a really sweet machine.
