My son-in-law's 2007 Yardman, Automatic, creeps along when going forward. In reverse, it runs as it should. Sound like to me that it would have to be in the transaxle. Am I right???

Installed a new engine drive belt; no improvement!

Is the clutch/brake engaging or releasing all the way? Did you try pulling the clutch/brake pedal toward you after you take your foot off it, in any forward gear. Sometimes the return spring gets weak.

Thanks. What I don't understand is why doesn't it do the same thing while in reverse??

The rear end of that mower is just a forward/reverse differential, the gearing/speeds are accomplished by the belts/drive pullies.
