Why no forum for Ryobi ??

Ok, I buy that, but just who (what level of government) should be responsible for the regulation and how would it be enforced? Capitalism and regulation don't seem to go together in this country,

Why no forum for Ryobi ??

This isn't the 1st 'brand' that outsources products under their name. That should be a reasonj NOT to include the brand, especially since they are a popular and very recognized name. I understand the repair issues with the lack of parts, but HD will cover the warrenty. I know I alrewady used it...

Any of the generic 40v Ryobi batteries decent?

I believe to get the most number of recharges for a Li-on pack is to charge it to 80%, then discharge it to 20%. Of course, that will affect run time noticeably. The generally accepted charge range when one stores a Li-on pack more than a couple of months is to charge it to 40 or 50%...

Why no forum for Ryobi ??

Ryobi USA advertised their mowers are US made. Comment on that?

Why no forum for Ryobi ??

What's the difference if the question is asked in the "Others" forum or in a specific forum? It's still asked. So all of those names that are listed some of which I've never heard of and surely can't be very popular, none have issues of getting parts or having them serviced??

Why no forum for Ryobi ??

But, that doesn't help anyone that has one and needs tips or general questions. Kinda narrow minded thinking. I had a issue with a string trimmer, it was under warranty and it was sent back thru HD which included shipping costs.

Looking for a replacement battery for a 40V Ryobi mower

Way too small for even a edger. You need at least a 5AH or more depending on your lawn size. The highest capacity they have now is 7.5AH. It's expensive $242. But, they are coming out with a 12AH pack. No price yet.

Why no forum for Ryobi ??

Under the equipment category, Ryobi is not listed. Why?? Huge seller in this market (WNY) and huge with Home Depot. Surely a recognized name.

    Winter storage

The OP never mentioned just what mower and the type of battery pack in use. Li-on packs should be kept at 40-50% charge when in storage over 3 months. They should NEVER be left fully discharged or charged and never kept attached to a charger! There are plenty of articles on all of this!

Looking for a replacement battery for a 40V Ryobi mower

The newer Ryobi's have gone to a 'higher' battery case that will not fit the older mowers from around 4 years ago. This is the 6AH and higher packs. To make matters worse, there were 2 different sizes for the 6AH packs. I called Ryobi about this when I bought my mower 4 1/2 years ago and their...

Any of the generic 40v Ryobi batteries decent?

The problem with any of these no-name Chinese products is you have no idea just who actually manufactured them. Then add, when they were actually manufactured and nothing of testing or any specifics are stated. Then add (from my experience and others) the amperage rating that is claimed which...

Buying Advice Ryobi 40v 6ah battery packs; beware of two different sizes

What is the run time of the two packs (under the same circumstances (grass condition)? The mower pictured is their revised line for 2020 with a larger battery compartment (for only one pack now apparently) that will accommodate their larger packs (including the 7.5ah that just came out (at $230).

Buying Advice Ryobi 40v 6ah battery packs; beware of two different sizes

Gee, a 'EGO' fan boy. Or should I say a fan boy with a ego? Both EGO & Ryobi are Home Depots pet brands. Your lame so called reason sounds like something from the Dictator of 18,00+ lies and counting.

Buying Advice Ryobi 40v 6ah battery packs; beware of two different sizes

For hand held tools (string trimmers for example) there wouldn't be a size problem. I seems that Ryobi revamped their mower lineup this year. The older model(s) were discontinued.

Buying Advice Ryobi 40v 6ah battery packs; beware of two different sizes

I called Ryobi after I bought this pack and three different people told me this pack "should" fit. My reply was "should" or "will" fit? Big difference. The last one I talk to was someone (whom I conversed with last year on a different subject) basically said the same thing. They do not have...

Buying Advice Ryobi 40v 6ah battery packs; beware of two different sizes

Ryobi came out with a 6ah 40v battery pack last year. This year they introduced a 7.5ah pack which is physical larger than their standard 4 & 5ah packs. Enough so, as far as I can tell it will not fit into their older mowers due to it's height and the sloped front of the battery compartment...

Feedback on the new wave of battery mowers

One is 'green', the other is not. Just like coal, neither are environmental friendly. Never was! (n) AFA battery powered tools, no, lawnmowers for contractors or 2nd ring suburbanites that have football field lawns, gas is the only practical option, at least for now. BUT, at least with Ryobi (I...

    Ryobi RM480E 38" riding mower won't move!

In the owners manual I found this; Mower won’t move: Start key not installed or is in OFF position. Parking brake is set. Direction control switch is in neutral (N). Brake is depressed and/or accelerator pedal is not pressed. Charger is connected to mower. Attached is a wiring diagram if that...

    Ryobi RM480E 38" riding mower won't move!

The 1st question is have you contacted Ryobi?? I have three of their products and have talked to customer support more than once (for various reasons other than problems) and found they are above average to deal with. That also depends on whom you speak to (like any place else). Do you hear...

Cordless Lawn Mower & battery pack comparision charts

You can also include Panasonic, Samsung & Sanyo & Sony to that list of good cells. At least the no-name pack had cells with some kind of name on them. Vanon does even have a website (believe it or not). Thou it doesn't mean it's the same company.

Cordless Lawn Mower & battery pack comparision charts

Correct on both; I believe that is Ego's only brushless & steel deck version and is their most expensive (or close to it) model. They are one of the very few importers that aren't all brushless. At those prices, it makes them overpriced (and overrated) alone with the excessive use of 'plastic'...

Cordless Lawn Mower & battery pack comparision charts

Background; Coming from a 23 year old Black & Decker CMM1200 Lead-Acid (Gel Cell) battery powered mower, I started looking for a replacement a year ago. I never had any intention of even remotely considered a gas powered mower. This mower has seen 5 battery changes, 3 blade changes and 3 wheel...
