I recently bought a "vintage" snapper rear engine series 3 that had been repowered with a B&S 286707-4029-01 circa 1995 engine. I'm trying to find out everything I can about it to get ahead of future problems so I don't have to be one of those "HELP ME" people that show up on forums all time...
