Need 3011X5S year and battery info

This mower is a series 5 and from about the mid '80s. The engine appears original. The first two digits in the code # dictate what year the engine was made. Most likely the same year as the mower or the previous year.

    Baggers for Snapper mowers?

A bagger from a 30" will NOT interchange with a 28 or 33. The deck adapter is different, and most likely the pipe diameter is smaller for a 30". When I was a dealer, 26 & 30 shared the same bagger, 28 & 33 shared the same, and the 25 had a bagger of its own. That was pre 1995, but I don't think...

Can't find 30W oil anywhere in my area, or on line.

I always used non-detergent 30W in my car wash pumps. Napa carried it under their own brand name. One of my washes was near a Tractor Supply store and I usually just bought it there, under their store brand "Traveler".

What model do I have for old snapper

A couple of things I would check. Gear shift adjustment - If the clutch is partially over the hole in the drive disc, it won't pull well and the disc won't last. Worn yoke - This is most likely. Check the slot in the yoke that rocks back and forth when clutching. They get notches worn in them...

    Mower will not crank!

Yes, "cranking" and "turn over" mean basically the same thing. It's what is happening before the engine starts. It's confusing when trying to help someone with a problem, but don't feel too bad, you're not the only one.

What Gator replacement for a Timecutter 75760?

I figured I would update this thread. I ended up using the 96-319 Oregon blade. They fit, but they had several differences. They were about 1/4 wider than the originals. They were flat across the width, while the originals were concave near the edge. They had about 1/8" less offset, which made...

What Gator replacement for a Timecutter 75760?

I recently bought this 60" mower and want a set of Gator blades for it. The Toro part number is 115-9649-03P. I think it is a 2022 model and Oregon doesn't show a replacement for it yet. The mower is not handy right now so I can't get one to measure. Has anyone replaced the blades on this model...

What model do I have for old snapper

Having been a Snapper dealer up until the early '90s, this mower is right in my wheelhouse. The last round tube mowers (with the exception of the re-introduced "classic" models) was the series 6, and was last produced in the late '80s. IIRC, the series 6 had only one pedal, with a latching...

Snapper RE rider 3312x6s circa 2003 brake help

The braking lever/mechanism is attached to the bottom of the chain case and rides inside the clutch hub. Several things could cause it to be inoperable (pad missing, engaging rollers missing, whole lever missing, twisted yoke, belt/cables out of adjustment, etc.). Without having the mower in...

Need help identifying engine on Snapper rear engine

I was speaking of the engines from my era, pre 1995. The Intek came along after I was out of the mower business, and I haven't kept up.

Need help identifying engine on Snapper rear engine

To my knowledge, the year is not in the Snapper serial #. They went by series, and one series may have spanned 2-3 years. The series 6 was from 86-88ish. When I was in the business, the first two digits of the engine code# were the year the engine was built. I've been out of the business since...

Need help identifying engine on Snapper rear engine

The numbers would be on the cowling only. I don't think one from a 14HP would fit.

Need help identifying engine on Snapper rear engine

No, that engine is a replacement. The original 10HP would most likely have been a 251707. That being said, we were dealers then, and IIRC the 30 was only available in 8 or 11HP, but the 10 in the model # says it's a 10HP. Or, maybe it was available in the standard version mower, and the 11HP was...

    Snapper SR140 clutch problem

Check the yoke (the thing with the big slot that rocks back and forth when clutching) for excessive wear. They tend to get notches worn in them in the most used speeds, usually the lower gears. The more notch, the less tension pressing against the drive disc.

    Broken part identification

If you want a name for it, how about "Larry". Venturing a guess as to what it is, probably linkage for the deck height adjuster. My experience is mainly from about series 8 and older, but I think that's what it is.
