Briggs gives the dimensions for my model, intake valve gap 0.005" - 0.007" and exhaust valve gap 0.009" - 0.011". I found the dimensions in the official briggs chart. The current dimensions in my engine are intake valve 0.006" and exhaust valve 0.010", so this cannot be the cause of the problem...
