    Muffler bolts will not stay tight and often fall out

    Lotsa good info in this thread. If it were me I would take muff off and thread bolts in about 4-5 threads and see if I could wiggle bolts, indicating amount of thread damage in cylinder. If much at all, I would have machine shop Keen-sert (rather than Helicoil)the damaged aluminum threads...

    The Stihl 009 and 009L are reed valve 2 stroke engines. They have a BUNCH of torque for their size and a weird vacuum-operated oil pump. I heat with wood and use my 009L a lot. I'll be real sad when parts are NLA for this unit.

    New models SRM-225 doesn't have grease point.

    Chubby, my SRM225 does have a 10mm hex bolt that acts as a plug to use a rubber-tipped grease gun accessory to lube the gearset. Since you would have to disassemble to drill/tap hole for zerk fitting for yours, I guess you would have to decide what to do. Reason they did this? I would bet it...
