    Husqvarna Z254F: No belt tensioner?

If the pulley attached to the spring has a loose pivot point, the belt tension could be messed up. Pull the deck and see how everything looks.

    Not Starting, No spark

I always use non ethanol gas. at least that is what it is labeled on the pump, sometimes I wonder if someone made a mistake... also use the stations with seperate hoses for each grade of fuel.

    Not Starting, No spark

So here is what fixed this. Replaced magneto and got spark instantly. machine started, then died. I suspected fuel so I drained the tank expecting to see some water in there, none found. I then realized there was too much gas through the carb, Pulled the carb and found the needle and seat was...

    Not Starting, No spark

so obviously (to me) I have no spark, even with the wire disconnected that grounds out the coil (shuts off the engine) When cranking over the engine, fuel/gas mixture will blow out the sparkplug opening so that would rule out compression and fuel, only thing left is no spark. Oil level is at...

    Not Starting, No spark

So after some preventative maint this spring, First cut of the lawn. Just as we were finishing up, The motor died and wouldn't start. Checked gas, and it was mostly empty. Added a few gallons, and it won't start. I gave a shot of starter fluid, still no start. Pulled the sparkplug and it was...

Husqvarna Z242F Zero Turn - Control Arm Sticks

They come apart fairly easily, and it is possible it needs cleaning and some lubrication. Both of mine were broken, but still worked. They work much better with new parts. Be sure you check by serial number as the new/old parts are not interchangeable.

    RZ4619 control arms

enjoying the warmer weather, and no snow! I am sure we will be paying for it come spring, but haven't even started the snow blower up since October when I ran it a bit and drained the gas to make sure there was no water in the tank/lines. The mower is buried in the corner of the shed so no...

    Safety Switch Problem Too

check the parking brake switch. mine rotated so it wouldn't work right. The safety switches are all in a row so if one fails, the rest work quite strangely.

husqvarna yth1542xp Won't move forward or reverse

could be the drive pulley, maybe it lost the key between the pulley and the shaft (?)

    Seized up??

remove the clutch, or at least the bracket that holds it from rotating and see if it moves a little bit, like mentioned, watch out for the wires attached to the clutch coil. This will tell you if it is the motor or the clutch. sometimes when the clutch locks up and the motor stops fast, it can...

    RZ4619 control arms

Still a it chilly out, and not in a big hurry to install them yet. I have seen a few videos about a rail across the front of a mower to help people get in and out of the mower (zero turn mower) . Anyone installed one and how do they like them? I am sure I could fab up something similar but...

    RZ4619 control arms

    RZ4619 control arms

Yeah, they said it didn't run, I got it working enough to start it and move it around before I bid on it. we did have to replace belts and some bearings, and we got it cheap enough so I can't complain too much. Just thought these were a strange thing to break. They look like a pain to get to but...

    RZ4619 control arms

My son jumped on the mower to move it out of the shed and the right control arm came off in his hand. Looks like the aluminum connector broke and the part ot bolt onto is broken too. The left side is cracked and proably needs to be replaced too. Looked up the part number that is on the broken...

Husqvarna RZ4619 totally different machine now

Still thinking my deck is too low. Seems like with it less than 5 inches (on label) it is digging into the ground. Maybe larger front tires ?? deck seems to be lower in front than the rear.

Husqvarna RZ4619 totally different machine now

we were chopping up leaves today and we shut the mower off to do a leaf pile dump onto the trailer. Afterwards, it wouldn't start. checked all the switchesand no good. we pushed it into the back yard to dig in a bit deeper, got a schematic and started tracing voltages. found the starter solinoid...

Husqvarna RZ4619 totally different machine now

Got the beast out yesterday and when The Kid started it up, lots of white smoke and it ran rough like the choe was stuck on. It was about mid 80's out. He shut it down and then restarted it, same thing. I pulled the dipstick to check the oil and it was thin looking and dark. Changed the oil...

Husqvarna RZ4619 totally different machine now

Lately it has been running good, after changing the carb out. I am still a bit disappointed about it's inability to cut the small hills and getting stuck in wet ground, so I decided to change the rear tires since they were weather checked and pretty worn down when I got it. I saw a youtube...

    Husqvarna RZ4619 running rich

Well, second round of cutting grass and it seems to be working great! I may have gotten lucky and got a good carb, or it may run for awhile and have issues like the last one. We shall see. for now, I am happy.

    Husqvarna RZ4619 running rich

Carb arrived today, hopefully get it installed tomorrow, drain the fuel and put fresh fuel in (just a good idea) and see how it works. I am thinking the carb I installed before said it would work, but it also said it was for a 18 HP motor instead of a 19 HP. This one says 18-20HP motor. but...

update: I pulled the air filter and replaced it, the old one felt quite a bit heavier than the new one. ???? also put a new spark plug on. Hopefully trying it out later today... Son cut the grass and it still seems to bog down when making turns with the blades engaged. The throttle lever acts...

    Husqvarna RZ4619 running rich

I believe it is a B&S 19 hp # 31Q677 0134 B1 according to the valve cover no stickers on the motor, looks like they were removed before I got it. carb is this from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JFWZCTX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Part number on carb was from an engine website...

    Husqvarna RZ4619 running rich

Last year when I got this, it wouldn't run at fast idle unless choke was on. I replaced the carb, fuel, filter, etc and it ran great for the rest of the year. This year it ran fin until about a month or so ago and now to run at fast idle, it runs rich, with a bit of black smoke out the exhaust...

    Issue with my zero turn

When I got my mower, it would run OK fast, but wouldn't idle down. I replaced the carb and it worked good. Sadly it is easier to replace rather than rebuild these days. Make sure you have the same number on the replacement carb so the jet sizes are correct. I took pics with my phone before I...

    battery worthless

I tried a jump box on my mower and it wouldn't start. it would crank, but not fire. A new battery did the trick. I did not try any of my vehicles. I have used the jump box on cars and they would fire up.

I was informed that I was retiring a year ago, my job was eliminated, I kept getting calls asking how to fix equipment I installed and kept running for 27 years (yeah right) My oldest son ended up moving back home and is helping out getting all those projects fixed up that have been piling up...

    battery worthless

New 'smart' chargers are a waste of money, they claim almost every battery is junk. (although most new batteries are junk) get one of those big tall chargers that are on wheels that the service stations use and it will charge anything. I had to buy a new battery for my Husqvarna zero turn this...

    New guy, Ignition key question

Wow I never updated this... I moved the deck up about 2 inches higher, and now it works good for my uneven lawn. I also fixed the wheels on the deck so they actually turn like they should. I ended up putting a new battery in, I wanted to wait until spring, but it wouldn't start so I could park it...

    New guy, Ignition key question

The pin for the blade height when I got it (used and 23 years old) was set to scalp my lawn. I raised the deck about 1/2 inch on the the level adjustments that attach to the deck. now I can lower it further on the handle and it does go higher under the mower so it can clear more obstacles when...

    New guy, Ignition key question

Replaced carb and now it runs like new! I probably could have rebuilt the old carb, but a replacement carb was relatively cheap so what the heck! Starts right up, runs without choke, and stays running at lower speeds. I can even drive it at lower speeds (without the blade) I am extremely pleased!!

    New guy, Ignition key question

Belt jumps off (new belt too) when I lower deck and start blade. Figured out the belt tension was not tight enough, and deck was too low, blades were hitting the ground on "D" setting. Filled tires up to 15 PSI and raised deck adjustment so it wasn't on the ground at 2nd from highest setting...

    New guy, Ignition key question

new belt is on, spring back in place. The deck in the full up position, I can lift it another 3-4 inches before it hits the frame. I am guessing that is not correct. With it all the way up (before changing anything) it is about where i usually cut with my old mower. still runs best with a bit...

    New guy, Ignition key question

I have the plastic headed key. New belt showed up today, looking under the floor, I found the tensioner spring came disconnected. Belt still looks like it has seen better days so it will be replaced. Once it cools down outside (in the 90's from noon on today) I will check things out underneath...

    New guy, Ignition key question

I picked up a Husqvarna zero turn RZ4619 at an auction, has 196 hrs on it and It starts, runs ok, and cuts good. Two questions, the deck seems to ride quite low, only down about 3 notches and it cuts short enough to scalp the grass. I doubt I would ever be able to lower it all the way even on...
