I would try a lighter weight oil if you have not already done so for this extreme cold weather. Also, just use a squirt of starting fluid if that is not a problem for your circumstance. Hope these ideas help.

Hi Everybody, I am new here. I have a sears Craftsman 30 inch 420cc riding mower. It starts when the carb is primed but then as it reaches normal idle it dies. Screwed into the bowl of the carburator is a brass piece that has wires leading to it. I am wondering if it may be the culprit? Please...
