Thanks. I have used RTV silicone on automotive repairs, and I figured it would work here, but wasn't sure - it's been a while since I worked as a mechanic. It was the sump gasket that had failed. The attached picture shows the place where the failure occurred - it's wet with oil.

Thanks. I will check that out. There is no leakage from the valve cover which is far forward of the leak as is the cylinder section. As shown in the images, this is where the 2 block halves come together. Is this something that has happened to others?

I have a Toro 22" Recycler mower with a Kohler 149cc (PH-XT675-2011) engine that suddenly started blowing oil out from what appears to be the gap between the 2 engine housing halves. No smoke from engine, and still runs, but pours oil out and blows it onto the deck. I have looked at all of the...
