Selling an old JD lawn tractor

I'm helping a friend sell a very old diesel JD lawn tractor from an estate. I don't have the information with me as to year and model number yet. I'm just trying to find out if there's a place to post this mower for sale or parts. I was informed that it was running but made a loud noise while...

When you only get a click but no crank

I just saw this post. I had tge sane issue on the same side with my Raptor SD. The left safety switch was not making full contact with the control arm out to start the engine. It's base set nut needed to be re-tightened twice as the switch base moved to far away to make contact with the saftey...

Kawasaki engine screen guard rivets 92039-0751

I ended up finding a local Scag dealer that will order them and charge me 80 cents apiece. This saves me the shipping charges and having to enter a CC number on sites I've never dealth with. I was finding prices as high as $12 for one rivet (Amazon) and shiping of $10.99 (Kawasaki parts store)...

Kawasaki engine screen guard rivets 92039-0751

I did check my dealer who is also a JD dealer and they told me they didn't have any and would have to contact Kawasaki. I told them I'd get them. Some online sites are in the 70-80 cent range like you mentioned. Their just sites I've never dealth with. I am looking locally right now...thanks.

Anyone have a good source for the engine guard plastic rivets. I need all 3 for FR691V. Amazon was expensive. I found MTD online carries them at a resonable price and shipping, but I never dealt with them...thanks. Kawasaki Guard Rivet OEM #92039-0751

    Price guaging

Green agenda's have driven oil prices up and onslaught of Government regulation's have driven the price of doing business up. These are the reason for high prices and not corporate gauging. Getting rid of Bidenomics will restore pricing back down but not to pre-Covid levels.

    Cub Cadet with steering wheel

The Z turn mowers do take time to learn how to steer. It's not intuative at all. I almost took my head off with on a low tree branch because I zigged when I should have zagged. I would tell her to take the mower into the middle of her yard or driveway with the blades off and just keep...

Good value torque wrenches without breaking the bank?

I had exactly the same issue purchasing a Pittsburg torque wrench last year when doing shocks on my car,. It wouldn't click. I thought I was doing something wrong but when I picked up my smaller cheap no name one that didn't go as high in ft lbs, it clicked. I brought it back for a return and...

    Kohler engines is no more.

That's the way I'm reading it. It's their power division and not their engine division. There must have been an internal organization reason for separating this division of Kohler. Hopefully, that doesn't mean any future changes to their engine division.

    rubber burning smell and smoke

Tension is good. I do mow a 'wild' section of yard that has tall grass and branches. It may have come in contact with the belt. I probably should look into a DR Chipper for that area.😁

    rubber burning smell and smoke

Hi Freddie, The reason why the smoke was appearing to come from the chute area is I found the cutter deck belt had slipped off the pulley on the right side blade and it was scraping agaisnt the plastic belt cover as it was spinning while mowing. I can't believe I was lucky enough that the belt...

FD 731v not Fr731v as I always type. Edited ... Starts but dies suddenly

I would look on YouTube. There are many videos out there on issues dealing with the FR series Kawasaki. From what I've seen, it appoears that the FR series is not one of Kawasaki's best lines. I have found many of these videos very helpful. I have an FR651 with no issues but it only has 200 hrs...

    rubber burning smell and smoke

All my pulleys are fine. I still don't know why the belt slipped off. It is a little chewed up but will last this mowing season. I found it easy to put back on the pulley using the proceedure of the You Tube video I had attached.

    rubber burning smell and smoke

While mowing 2019 SD Raptor, I am getting a burnt rubber smell and see smoke, not from the muffler, but under the machine coming out of the grass chute. I have no way of looking while the blades are turning. When I stop the mower and check the belt pulley system, everything looks ok, although...

    Replaced 42" Deck corroded already

We've had so much rain here in the NE, it's raining now, that I have to cut my grass every 4-5 days instead of 7-10 days (normal). The grass is never fully dry and is clumping like crap under the deck. I've had to resort to scraping it off with a putty knife after every mowing. Using a hose on...

    Replaced 42" Deck corroded already

I have an SD Raptor that I bought in 2019. Before that I had a 1991 STHM '3 wheeler Scag'. For some reason the Scag never got sticking clumps of grass like the Hustler does. I could go a whole season before removing any grass clipings from the belt pulley area. The Hustler design seems to be a...

    SD Raptor won't move

I wanted to update my post. After taking the wheels off, the left side hydro bracket was cracked. I did replace all the brackets with the upgrade kit and the mower is running fine now. I recommend anyone with an older SD Raptor do a preventive maint and replace the hydro support brackets. I...

    SD Raptor won't move

One thing I can say is the Kawasaki FR691V motor has been great, but I only have 250 hrs. on it. I did get 20 years and1,300 hrs on my Kohler Command Pro 22 on the Scag before having issues.

    SD Raptor won't move

My 3 year expierence with my 54 inch Raptor was good until recently. I didn't have belt issues until both the front and rear left hydro support brackets broke. All videos I've seen deal with the left hydro...why? The beefier set from Amazon should help with that. The other issue that cropped up...

    SD Raptor won't move

Yes, I did find this very kit on Amazon and will order. I'm glad my 2019 at least has the newer and thicker crossmember supporting the hydros. It would be interesting to find out how the newer Hustlers are built now that Hustler was sold to Stanley Black and Decker. Stanley (tools) was an...

    SD Raptor won't move

Thanks for replying. After fully checking the mower, I found the left hydro bracket with the hole in it for locking the hydro release valve on had completely split and the lower part was misaligned. This preventing me from actually being able to lock the hydro release lever. I pushed the upper...

    SD Raptor won't move

I have two issues here. First, the mower started moving jerky and then came to a complete stop. I wanted to freewheel the mower to a better location to look at it and found that the left hydro release lever won't move enough to lock it into the release position so I can push the mower. I'm...

    OE Hydro Gear oil filter

    OE Hydro Gear oil filter

I have a 2019 SD Raptor that started leaking trans oil from the right filter. I replaced the OE Hydro Gear filter last year for the 200 hr. service. It just started leaking a couple of weeks ago. There was no impact of any sort to that area or the mower, so I don't know why it would leak. I've...

    Drive Belt Replacement

I have a problem with the drive belt which came off when it was struck by a branch. I can't seem to move the idler pulley over to the right enough to get the belt back on. Is there a way to loosen the idler pulley arm so I can move it over to get the belt on?

2015 Raptor- more speed on one side than the other

Here's the procedure I use to adjust the speed difference between right and left side hydros (190 hrs). I use it on what ever side is slower and speed it up. Right now the right side is a little slower on the right side, so I'll adjust that side.

    Hydro oil tank

I changed the hydro oil and filters three seasons ago on my 2019 54" SD Raptor. I have 50 hours till reaching 200 hours on the mower.
