So I’m not an expert, but took the spark plug out and looks like I’m looking at the piston wall. Nothing moved in there when spinning the engine, and I can’t get anything in there either.

I am trying to determine what is causing this whining noise when attempting to start this mower. It also doesn't start. Had a loud screech when I finished my last mow of the year last year. Any ideas where to start?
