    Kohler 22 hp 7000 Series KT725-3078

I probably described it wrong. With the engine running, the bell crank does not move at all from either position (full on or off) at any speed with or without the springs on. I'm assuming the push pin has fallen off or if it is like most things now days, the governor gear is made of plastic...

    Kohler 22 hp 7000 Series KT725-3078

The governor arm does not move in either direction. I would assume the arm, with no springs attached, would move in either direction as the counter weights move in and out,

I need ya'lls help again. After replacing the rectifier, oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air cleaner it ran like a top. My friend came and got it and he went to mowing the grass at the church he pastors. It ran according to him, great for about 45 minutes, and all of a sudden it went into and...

Cub Cadet XT1 with Kohler 22 hp 7000 Series KT725-725cc

Thanks guys. Replaced the rectifier/regulator and it lives. Checked the volatge at WOT @ battery and it showed about 14.5 +/- volts. It appears now there is a much bigger issue but not with the regulator or charging system. Seeming unrelated but who knows.

With the terminals facing me it is the left and center. I did a diode check and you are correct, I get a 1 (all three of my meters use 1 instead of OL) both forward and reverse. Don't know if it matters but with the + lead on B+ and the AC to the left, I get a reading of .021, reversing the...

43.3k ohms. B+ to case shows 43.3K and one of the AC lugs also shows 43.3k both to case ground. Between the two lugs that shows the 43.3 it reads 0.00k.

I noticed my VOM was acting flaky so I got my other one and retested So far with rectifier removed and engine running: Stator output test = 21v +/- at idle 30v +/- at WOT Stator leads to ground do not show the stator to be shorted on either lead. On a whim, I rechecked the rectifier on one AC...

Another question........ If I remember correctly and I will verify in the morning, the B+ wire coming had voltage going to it with the key switch in the off position. Am I right in assuming it should only show battery voltage when the key if turned on and not have continuous power at all times...

Working on a friends mower. A couple of days ago it quit on him after he stopped it to move something. It would not crank. He (not mechanically inclined) brought it over and and I found a blown 20 amp fuse under the seat. He went and got some fuses and proceeded to mow again and it did the...

You wrote in a thread about this 22hp briggs surging.... The govenor is bouncing because the low speed metering circuit in the carb is not working correctly. Can you elaborate a bit on that?

    Briggs 22hp Surging Badly

This is not the carb I'm working on but is a close representation. Does anyone know what the function is of these 2 ports?

    Briggs 22hp Surging Badly

I must have a non-normal carburetor or I'm not pushing hard enough on it. The jet feels like it seats in the plastic tower but when you tune it over instead of the jet being all the way at the bottom it actual sits about 1/2 inch below the bottom of the plastic piece. When I run a drill bit...

    Briggs 22hp Surging Badly

I was told by a briggs guy here in town there were no orifices to clean and nothing to gain by removing the intake manifold from the carb. True or not? The only piece I did not change in the carb was the plastic piece that hold the main jet. How far does the main jet fit into the plastic...

    Briggs 22hp Surging Badly

I have never taken the intake manifold off the carburetor. The "plastic" seals on the intake manifold to the head look good. The carburetor to bowl gasket was replaced with B&S part. The float level I will have to check, but I belive it is sitting in the correct position. Is there an idle...

    Briggs 22hp Surging Badly

On going Surging issue. I have a 44N677-0005-G1 with a 594207 carburetor. It belongs to friend of mine. It had an issue a few weeks ago with the solenoid not work and not allowing the engine to start. Once it was freed it ran great. Fast forward 2 weeks and running it to mow about 2 acres he...

    22hp Briggs Carb Problem

This thing is driving me batty. I will now run with the main jet in place but now surges and all speeds. If the the lever is pushed up to choke it just a bit it smooths out. It ran like a champ before with no surging but was flooding the cylinders with gas while off. What have i done wrong...

You are correct. Apparently it had fallen out and was lost. A new one and o-ring will be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

    22hp Briggs Carb Problem

I'm working on a friends 22hp Briggs 44N677-0005-G1. At first it was a needle valve problem and was leaking gas by and filling the cylinders and crankcase with gas. I took the carb off and replace the needle valve, float and gasket. While it was off I cleaned the passages with carb cleaner...
