Thank you. The clutch has been replaced. Whilst the unit is apart I can turn the shaft at the motor end and the reel spins. It appears to simply be the the shaft does not sit into the clutch/motor. It almost appears too short. So maybe it is worn? I have not dismantled the string head to look...

Yes I have. That is all ok. It is definitely the Square shaft not remaining seated that is the issue.
