I disassembled the unit to inspect the bulb and fuel lines. Both are fine, not cracked and hold pressure. When I press the bulb I hear a whistle in the tank, see bubbles, but nothing goes to the bulb. My next step is going to be compressed air to the carb. Suggestions?? Thanks!

I believe the carb I have is past it's useful life. No replacement available B&S or chinese. Parts diagram lists a 499953 as a later carb for my engine. Safe to use in this circumstance??

I swapped the handrails from another mower, cleaned the carb and the only issue is it won't shut off. If I push the assembly to make contact with the switch it shuts off but there is some resistance keeping the cable from pushing it off. Ideas??
