Has anyone had any experience with these mowers?
The self drive works by allowing the gearbox to rotate upwards thus allowing the drive belt to tenstion and produce drive. I'm looking for a drawing to help me re build the machine
Has anyone come up with a fix to be able to adjust the slow running screw on these mower motors?
It is nigh impossible to get to the screw adjuster as it is hidden away under the engine cover etc.
Is there a trick or tool that will make the adjustment easy or is it a case of skinned knuckles and...
The owner has added new oil so smells OK. What I do notice is there is oilcoming up through the snall hole at the bottom of the breather chamber when I turn the motor over by hand.
I have been asked to look at a lawn mower fitted with Tecumseh motor. I can see the label on the side of the model that states CTR156 does this make any sense to anyone.
The problem is there is oil coming out of the crank case breather.
Hi Guys,
I have a Honda RM55 powered mower that starts easily even on tick over but when I go to throttle it up it pops, bangs and stalls. After a minute or two it will suddenly start to run perfectly and I can then throttle up and down with no probles?
I have fitted a brand new carb, (yes I...
Does anyone have head and tinwork schematic of the K141.
It looks like I have to torque down one bolt that lies underneath the tinwork and there are spacers that appear to go underneath it all.
Any help as always appreciated.

Been trying tonight but still no success. I've tried tweezers, small screwdrivers, magnets, grease but still the little devils are laughing at me. I've walked away now for the night. I've ordered a small engine valve lifter on e-bay today that will be here in a few days so hopefully that may...
To re fit the keepers on a Kohler K141 motor.
I've just spent 3 hours of my life treying to get the damn things back in even using a valve lifter. Please someone tell me there must be a way!
TC, (down, but not beaten,,,,yet)!
Managed to chuck the cone, just, took a flyer on the job which went well. clutch now all back together and working well. I removed 2.5mm from the edge, removed and re-sized the liner and re-fitted it and re-assembled the whole thing. All working great now. A word of caution, chucking the cone on...
OK, so info for anyone that may need it. I've managed to speak to a supplier here in the UK that has advised me that the inner cone is in fact at the end of it's life. I need a new inner cone or, I can rig up the cone in a lathe and machine of 4-5mm off the back edge to give the clearance need...
Hi Guys, Have now moved onto looking at stripping down and cleaning/reassbling my Kohler cone clutch on a K141.
Spec: 29402D
Serial 5217622
Managed to get the seized clutch cover off and removed the clutch itself. I stripped down the clutch after removing the screws which in itself was a...
Rivets, thanks for your continuing help. I know this sounds like a daft question, but I don't know what the 12 X 24 or 12 X 32 screw measurements actually are. Does the 12 mean diameter and the 24 or 32 mean length?
Thanks Rivets, I'm looking at the elbow manifold at the moment and it appears it needs studs that are approx. 3" long. Where would I be abe to get these from?
This time regarding the 2 studs that fit through the elbow intake tube to the carb itself. What size are these two studs as they were thrown away before I got hold of the motor?
It's at times like this that I wish we lived in the USA rather than the UK as we cannot get anything like this here. We have to rely on Amazon, e-bay or other online suppliers. Would love to buy in the USA but the P&P plus import duties make everything very expensive
Last part of my K141 motor and see the valve clearance to too high, (0.020+), on both exhaust and intake valves. I've lapped both in but before I close the lid wanted to know if it's worth buying replacement valves. Does anyone have the spec on the valve overall lengths as I can't find it...
Is there anywhere on the site that I can post items for sale?
I have a load of kohler K141 parts to sale and would like to offer them to members rather than put them on e-bay.
Cheers,
TC
