    With the pto disengaged, the blades should freely turn by hand. If not, take belt off, and check each blade spins freely.

    Thank You. I did comparisons after Star Tech's post and bought a replacement engine. From specifications it should work perfect. Minor differences but I do not anticipate any major problems adapting to my tractor.

    I just blew my lawn tractor engine. Internal part broke, engine does not turn. I can buy a 407777 Type 0229-E1 on EBay. Question is: Will the type 0229 bolt directly onto my chassis? Or does each type have a different mounting configuration?
