Gaskets are normally really reasonably priced. I use Permatex The Right Stuff which is ready in 90 minutes. Have had excellent results. Make sure both the valve cover and cylinder head are completely clean of all gasket material, sealant, oil.

I see this all the time across several different brands of mowers. The manufacturer decided to design the mower with a very short path of fuel to carburetor. There is nothing that can be done to add fuel shut off valve in this case.

Motomix, Tru Fuel, in other words, canned pre-mix, is both expensive, and not the way to go for 2-stroke engines. It is another somewhat controversial topic. You can do the research if interested. Mix one gallon at a time of gas and 2-stroke oil and you will be fine.

Belts wear on the sides and top to bottom, more than they stretch. Next time you see a worn belt that is say 1/2” wide, measure it and it will be more narrow than 1/2”. Take that difference and combine it over the length of the belt and it adds up to excessive wear.

Go get fresh gas from the pump, five month old pre-mix is not fresh. Remove spark plug, pour a tiny bit of gas into cylinder, and start it.

It is most likely either the cheap recoil mechanism hanging up and dragging, or really bad connecting rod knock indicating engine wear and slop. Hard to say without being there in person.

Is the new ignition coil OEM or aftermarket? Compare the two coils with multimeter. Is the choke/run/stop lever working properly? Have you tried different spark plugs? How are you checking spark? Have you tried with and without kill wire attached to coil?

Typically hydro oil and filters need to be changed from 300-500 hours depending on brand, etc. Top off the oil and should be fine as long as no air was introduced. Being a bit low on oil in reservoir tank is not uncommon.

Would be interesting to hear how rebuild goes and if leaks are good long term. Never heard of White hydros before. If leaks aren’t that bad, best option is to run it and top off oil as needed.

It is an off brand, big box store battery mower that many shops don’t work on, including me. I only work on gas engines by choice.

I have seen these plastic transaxles hang up before in bypass mode. Rock the mower back and forth until it frees up to push.

You could use a grabber that is a few feet long and squeeze a handle that closes two fingers to pick up the dead tree limbs, so you don’t have to bend over. Other than that, it is just picking them up one after another. I have lots of branches that drop constantly.

The tab at the bottom left of picture is how you adjust RPMs by bending it. Need a tachometer to check and adjust as needed. The engine speed will not change when you pull the trigger on wand for water to come out, it will remain the same. Including the model number will be helpful.
