its really not that hard to replace the cam, its just right there after you take the oil pan off...

its not a matter of will the camshaft break, its when. all of these engines have camshaft ACR problems - 21xxxx-28xxxx-31xxxx-33xxxx engines, especially the intek ones.

just leave the engines intact with all of their pieces, not a good choice of engine though as all of them have camshaft breaking issues, since the sparkplug ignites as the piston starts to go back down, it might be for emissions but idk about any of the things they do on these to "solve"...

yeah. that should be a permanent fix at least for the starter

you can try all these alternative fixes or actually fix the problem, which is most likely the compression release

yes it can, you can put in a new and much stronger battery and that will essentially bypass the ACR or i have seen some people cover up the intake hole with their hand and it would start, just some advice from someone who had 5 or 6 of these Hard-to-crank blown acr engines, just sayin

what engine? engine serial? husqvarna model number under the seat? theres a reason i ask these questions, im not a stupid old fart

sorry, but you need a new carburetor, you could spend hours fiddling with it, or you could buy a $20 carb, make a good use of your time

what model of husqvarna would help, is this on a push mower, a roto tiller or a '66 fastback? provide us the right information and you will get quality answers

take the spindle out then and grease the darn thing

if it runs or even fires a bit then your engine is good and you prob need a new carb and fuel lines (y)

try shooting som starting fluid in the carb or sparkplug hole

i have a 3HP b&s horizontal shaft on an edger that starts first pull also, i tell ya, its the seafoam i treat it with

put your hand over carb while cranking to see if that does anything also

heres what you can do, take a air compressor with a blower tip and fit it in the fuel line and press the handle to blow air while cranking the engine

do you have choke all the way closed when starting?

the setting for the mixture screw is turn in until snug, and then back out 1 and a 1/4 to 1 and a 1/2

hmmmm, i think then your carb could be out of adjustment

get a new battery

try shooting some starting fluid in the carburetor and see if it runs for a few seconds.

check your whole fuel system: your fuel lines, fuel filter, gas tank for debris etc. carb is most likely clogged too
