    Carburator for Vanguard 16hp

Hello B., Unless the carburetor is badly damaged due to water in the fuel, I suggest a full rebuild or get a replacement carburetor from Amazon, eBay or Jack's small engine. Don't experiment with a totally different carburetor because they usually don't work as well as an original design...

Hello H., Most Husqvarna decks are gray for the ones I have dealt with. I have seen a rare few early Scotts brand mower decks that were orange long before John Deere took them over.

Spring washer on a Toro Timemaster

Hell D., These are known as a Belleville spring washer. Cup towards the pulley, raised center so the nut or bolt can tighten against it. These are preferred by some manufacturers over split-lock washers that tend to break with age and use.

    Westinghouse and Duramax generators

Hello P., This is only a 10,500-Watt steady power unit. That is too small to run a whole house in my opinion. People often pick too small of a generator to save money. I am not trying to talk you into spending more, but a bigger generator is advised. To run a whole house, I think you need to...

    Westinghouse and Duramax generators

Hello P., What are you planning to do with the generator? If it is for emergency standby? Anything below 12KW running watts is a waste of money in my opinion if you need to run heat or AC. Do you plan to use it for jobsite work? Bigger generators are heavy, but they have to be to produce...

Briggs & Stratton 8250 storm responder carb bowl held on with Phillips head screws???

Those long screws (studs) that hold the carburetor on have a star on the tip that require an E-torx bit to take out. The studs each have a shoulder that hold the carburetor on. A good pair of baby vise-grip pliers usually work, but damage to the stud will occur, so a proper bit is preferred...

    ferris z2 blades stuck on

Hello L., That is uncommon, but not unheard of. Check for power with a test light, but also verify the grounds are good. Do you have to be in the seat for the safety switch to operate? Is the brake set?

    ferris z2 blades stuck on

Hello L., If you have a multimeter, Ohm the 2-pins going to the clutch with it disconnected from the chassis harness. If you don't get a resistance reading, the magnet windings are likely burnt. Is the air gap adjustable on that clutch design?

Briggs & Stratton 8250 storm responder carb bowl held on with Phillips head screws???

    First Oil Change

Hi CG., I think an oil change at 300 hours in a rider is for lazy people that have more money than they have sense. I see "extended life" oils as a marketing gimmick to sell the oil at a higher price. Oil does not wear out; it gets dirty from carbon blowby deposits that all fuel engines have...

    Craftsman 190cc Push Mower

Do you have the correct plug the engine calls for... not one that just fits. Parts stores are bad about giving out wrong plugs. Issue with Walker C19 Zero Turn Mower

Hello Stephen, Vented fuel caps went away a few years back, so more than likely the auxiliary tank vent hose is plugged. They tend to hide these vent emissions hoses, so it may take some effort to track the far end down. Usually, insects will build nests in the open end of any hose they find...

Backfiring from full throttle to idle

If spark plug heat ranges are that cold, put the correct plugs in. People tend to think spark plugs are all the same, but they are not. I used to see this issue on gas engine farm tractors quite often. The hotter the engine gets the worse it will pop and snort.

Nikki carb OE4215 jet size for Generac 27hp

Hello T, Going a little rich will keep the cylinder temperatures down. A basic rule to remember is fuel cools down and air heats up the combustion process. The ideal scientific mixture is 14.7 parts air to 1 part gasoline. (Stoichiometric mixture) Don't "hog out" your jets dramatically. A...

Nikki carb OE4215 jet size for Generac 27hp

Well, as it turns out I have only one match. It is a steel bowl aftermarket carburetor (The bowl may not be correct for the application). It has the white center plastic section with 2-screws to retain it, and the jets are held in with tiny O-rings. My jet drills show the right (on the idle...

Ariens 915268 Ikon 42 zero turn No crank !

Ariens 915268 Ikon 42 zero turn No crank !

If it has a low oil switch it will not prevent cranking the engine over. It will just not let it start and run. Worn out ignition switch is most likely the issue. Make sure the tiny letters on the back of the switch near each pin match up to your original switch. The switches can look the same...

Have you tried Parts Tree. I have had luck finding jets on there. The O-rings for press in jets are not available by themselves and only come installed on the jets.
