On a Briggs engine, the code date USUALLY is part of the engine numbers, on the ID location, see EXAMPLES ......... SOME parts are "code-dated" due to changes in design or material, etc. that occurs during a particular model's date of manufacture or release, ie. different model carburetor...

Well, the model number for the yardman is good, BUT recheck the Troybilt model numbers.... somethings NOT right !! Also, those numbers are the MOWERS Model numbers, We need the number from the ENGINES also ... usually found right on the engine itself. see examples ......... click on the links...

Got curious, and noticed the pics in post # 10, ... it appears to me you have a SEPARATE choke cable AND a SEPARATE throttle cable, ..is that correct ..?? I went to the Manual and could NOT find a setup like that. ..:confused2: this is the throttle control from the manual ...

I'm sure this has nothing to do with it, but since you've tried most everything that is an apparent cause, have you checked the fuel filter for the right MICRON size ..?? some filters are required for certain engines, read the description of the filters... and also here's some info on that...

OK, what about the governor spring BEHIND the throttle control bracket .... ??? ....

Looking at YOUR pics it appears the choke/governor SPRING is "BROKEN" or not connected the Lonnnng spring on the throttle linkage rod to the governor control arm, .. check out pics of MY carb ......... ........ could be your problem.......... keep us posted ...

Sounds like you still have a carb problem with the idle speed screw setting BUT it also sounds like your combo-choke /throttle cable needs adjusting, ... loosen (slightly) the locking screw on the throttle/choke cable, (cable attached to white plastic slider, see pic ) now push throttle lever on...
