Lowering the blade on a walk behind

I just started using an eXmak 36 inch Metro and I was wondering how to lower the blades a quarter or half inch and if it is a big deal ? I can see the blade shafts are exposed, stick up through the pulley cover plate and looks like they have washers under the nuts.

    Best blade height

We live in the NY state area ( southern near NJ ) and I was wondering what would be the best height to cut the grass. We do not have an irrigation system and the eXmark is currently adjusted to a 3 1/2 inch cut height, is this a good height ? Also, the 36 inch deck has about an 1/8 of an inch...

    Belt issue

Have a 2005 Metro 36 inch and I just changed the drive belts. One side does not want to stay centered, in the groove so I would guess that something is slightly out of alignment ? I do not see where there are any adjustments, looks like just direct bolt holes. Any advice ? Thanks, Rick

    eXmark walk behind part needed

I have a 36 inch eXmark Metro and the rubber stone guard, that hangs from the rear tire axle is shot and needs to be repaved. It is just a piece of rubber that is strapped to the axle with a simple banding strap and two bolts. I can find every other piece and bolt for the mower, however I...

    Tool Question

I need to buy a complete set of wrenches and I see that the ratchet type are very desirable, but expensive, probably double the price as a standard wrench. I do not use the tool stat often, so should I just go with the standard Craftsman box & open end instead of the ratcheting type ? Thnaks

Deck cleaning on a 42" Tractor

I was just wondering what is the best way to access a deck to scrape and clean it ? I was thinking of auto ramps, is there a better way without breaking the bank ?

eXmark 36 inch - deck adjustment

I was just given this mower to use for the season and I notice the front of the deck has a slight slope down from the back of the deck/machine. Some one had told me it should have a slight slope towards the front because it works better at discharging the cut grass. I would have thought the...

The engine is leaking oil under the carb & muffler assembly and I cannot see where it is leaking from. On the attached diagram, part # 92049B is called the oil seal. I am thinking it is that ??? Also, I cannot see what that attaches to, do I need to remove the engine to replace that part ...

eXmark mower - leaking gas ?

It appears the Kawasaki 15 hp engine is leaking what appears to be gas even thou the gas valve is closed so I would imagine it is leaking from one of the carburetors ? I guess I need to remove the air filter assembly in order to be able to view the issue ? Any advice would be greatly...

    Gas in the oil ?

I was just given ( actually loaned ) an older eXmark, a 2005 with a Kawasaki 15hp V engine. It runs fine but after using it the engine leaked fluid that appears to a gas oil combination. I immediately changed the oil and it appeared to be half gas ? After filling with oil the mower ran fine...

    Floating or fixed deck

I would imagine this is a difficult question to answer without considering the specific terrain ( so I think ) however I am curious to know if a floating or fixed deck does a better job of cutting grass, as far as the appearance of the finished cut ? I have a 1/2 acre and I would describe it as...
