DeWalt DCMWSP256U2 2-20v mower will not turn on

I'd try pulling that safety bar on the handle back really hard to make sure it clicks. Also, maybe give the battery contacts a quick wipe. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Carb leak filled cylinder with gas

Sounds like you fixed one problem just to find another bigger one. You did all the right things by changing the oil and flushing it, that's for sure. To answer your question, both of those things can cause damage. When the cylinder is filled with gas, that's called hydrolock. If you tried to...

MS 192 TC starting problems when mildly warm

I chased a very similar problem on an old leaf blower once. And it turned out to be the main fuel line from the tank to the carb. When it was cold, the line was fine. But after the engine ran for a bit and everything got warm, the old rubber line would get a little too soft and could collapse...

Will the operating engine vacuum keep the choke open?

Hey man, that's some creative thinking right there. I see what you're trying to do. To answer your question, no, the engine vacuum won't open the choke for you. The choke plate is usually too heavy and isn't designed to be moved by air like that. I've been down that road before, trying to make a...

    dieseling engine when shut down

I think you have two options. Try letting the engine idle for a minute to cool down before you turn it off. That worked for me on a similar tractor. Or look for an 'aftermarket' replacement for that solenoid. You can usually find them for $30 or $40 instead of $170.

Fuel pressure prime at start up

Had a similar headache with an old mower of mine. I'd bet it's your fuel pump relay. That's the little switch that tells the pump to run for a couple of seconds when you turn the key. It's probably just worn out from age. Easy way to check is to find the relay (usually in the fuse box), and when...

    912 Serial Number

Under the seat – Check the metal plate on the tractor frame, under or around the seat pan. Side of the frame rail – Sometimes it's stamped into the side of the frame, near the front axle or engine mount area. Behind the engine – Occasionally it’s on a tag or decal near the firewall or dash...

MTD Mower: no room to install a fuel shutoff valve. Any suggestions?

    1. Try a mini inline valve with barbs + short fuel line. There are very compact inline shutoff valves made for tight spots—some are less than 1.5" long. Combine that with tight-fitting Tygon fuel line (which resists leaks better than vinyl) and you might just squeak it in. Trim the lines...

    Allis-Chalmers 808 GT II transaxle ID--Whatizzit?

That transaxle is most likely a Peerless—they made a lot of those for garden tractors back then. Could be a model like the Peerless 600 series, which fits the shape and setup you described. Gear ratio is probably around 8:1 to 10:1, depending on exact model. To hit 20+ mph, you'd need to upsize...

yamaha 824 engine in bad boy rogue

That’s rough.I’ve heard of a few guys having issues with the Yamaha 824s, mostly around valve seizure and poor oil flow, especially if the motor runs hot or has long intervals between oil changes. But seized head bolts and completely trashed heads? That’s next level. Sucks that Yamaha won’t...
